A Prophetic Prayer for the Church

a prophetic prayer for the church and god's people

We pray according to the prophecy of Isaiah 11:2-13 (KJV)

2 Father we pray that the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon your people, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 Make us to be of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD, and make us delight in obeying the Lord: so that we shall not judge after the sight of our eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of our ears: Give us discernment and insight so that we may do according to that which is in your heart and in your mind: and build us up to be a sure house so we may walk before the anointed forever.

4 let us like Jesus, with righteousness judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: anoint your people and give them the authority so they may smite the earth with the rod of their mouth, and with the breath of their lips, permanently silenced the wicked.

5 Let righteousness be the girdle of their loins, and faithfulness the girdle of their reins.

6 We declare that the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in the Lord’s entire holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. We cry for peace and harmony in the Churches and in every other sector in the land as you restore even the ecological health of our Nation.

10 we pray that you will rapidly advance the day when the root of Jesse shall stand as an ensign of the people; we desire that to it shall all generations of the Nations seek: and may the abiding presence of the Lord upon us, be glorious.

11 Gracious Father, let it come to pass quickly in the day appointed, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover and anoint the remnant of his people which are left in this nation, from St Thomas, and from Negril, and from Portland, and from Clarendon, and from St Elizabeth, and from St Catherine, and from Hanover, and from St James and all the Parishes in this great island of the sea.

12 Lord set up an ensign for the nation, and assemble the outcasts of Jamaica, and gather together the dispersed, despised and rejected Jamaicans from the four corners of the earth.

13 Let the envy of every nation depart from us, and all the influences of the adversaries of Jamaica be removed totally: We declare that all our foes are now our friends.

In Jesus' Name, Amen!
