Prayer 2000 Teachings

Slavery and Human Trafficking

For the Lord hears the poor and needy and despises not His prisoners (His miserable and wounded ones).  Psalm 69:33 AMP

In January of 2010 President Obama declared January to be the annual National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, culminating in the annual celebration of National Freedom Day on February 1. We are excited to have a chance to be involved in this and feel we should make this month a month of prayer for freedom for those caught in such a horrific plight.

We would like to call prayer specifically for this month of January 2013.  Because this is a worldwide problem, we would like to call all Intercessor to prayer.  Prayer guidelines are provided below.   Get excited to unite across the Nation and the world to proclaim Isaiah 61:1-4.  Proclaim the goodness of God, who is able to set all captives free!

Please pray for:

Background:  Trafficking is very prevalent in the World.  The main form of trafficking, is sex trafficking, both with National, and international victims who have been brought here for that purpose.  Labor trafficking also exists in the Nation and is seen mostly in agriculture or small business work (nail salons, hair salons, construction, etc.).  While port cities are the main source of transit, trafficking happens everywhere from big cities, to private homes in small towns.

Human Trafficking is active in every nation and encompasses more than 27 million victims.  An estimated 2 million children are exploited by the global commercial sex trade.  Whatever nation you are living in, pray for the victims in that nation this January.
